A stadium hosting Olympic events has said it faces a “mammoth task” covering up all trace of its sponsors name before the games begin. The Ricoh Arena in Coventry is hosting Olympic football games and can only display the official Olympic sponsors. Even road signs using the stadium’s name will have to be covered up.

A Coventry man was selling poppies (on behalf of his veteran grandad who was not feeling well) at the city’s Gallagher retail park when the security guard attempted to stop it and have him arrested. The security guard called police and they soon arrived.
The police officers bought poppies from him themselves and went away. Shortly afterwards two more cars of police officers came, followed by a police van and some PCSOs, and they all bought poppies too!
Brilliant! Good to see some common sense from the police force too and I hope the security guard is embarrassed.
